Grandparents' Rights Archives

Another state adopts grandparents' rights bill

Florida's neighboring state of Georgia has recently passed a house bill that would allow grandparents to petition for the court ordered rights of grandparents to be allowed to visit their grandchildren. This bill is similar to legislation proposed or passed on other states that would enhance the non-parental custody and visitation rights of grandparents.

Grandparent visitation legislation being passed

Fort Lauderdale area readers interested in the topic of grandparent's rights may be interested in what has recently occurred in the Connecticut House of Representatives. There the House unanimously passed a grandparent visitation rights bill.

Grandparents' visitation often best for the child

Florida grand parents may be finding themselves on the outside when it comes to involvement in their grand children's lives. Often the matter involves one of the in-laws denying the grand parent visitation rights, but if both parents mutually decide to not allow access it may become more difficult to find court's sympathetic to their plight.

Debate over grandparents' visitation rights

In Florida's neighboring state of Georgia, a unanimous House of Representatives approved legislation that would allow for family court judges to grant visitation rights to grandparents. This bill is now being sent over to the Georgia State Senate for approval.
