Helping You Create A Brighter Future

If you have visitation rights with your children, it’s important to take advantage of every minute you get to spend together. Not only is this good for you, but the same holds true for your children.

It’s your hope that you never run into visitation related concerns, but there’s always a chance this could happen. For example, your ex-spouse may do their best to take away some of your rights, as they’re still angry about your divorce.

Here are some concerns that you may need to address at some point:

  • Missed visits: Maybe you’re scheduled to spend the entire weekend with your children. However, when the time comes for your ex to drop your children off on Friday evening, they tell you that they won’t be able to do so until Saturday.
  • Parenting styles: It’s okay that you and your ex have different parenting styles, but you may need to discuss this at some point, such as if it’s having a negative effect on the growth of your children.
  • Too much interference: A common example is if your ex continually calls and texts your children while they’re spending time with you. It’s okay to check-in every now and again, but doing so too often can become a distraction.

These are just a few of the many visitation concerns you may need to address with your ex at some point.

If your words are falling on deaf ears, review your visitation agreement to learn more about your legal rights. There may come a point when you have no choice but to request a modification.
